Adelaide University Cricket Club

Mission Statement:
The Adelaide University Cricket Club ("AUCC") was founded in 1907 and entered the South Australian Cricket Association (gSACAh) in the season of 1908/09. The AUCC has an impressive and proud history as one of the longest established Clubs of the SACA. The purpose of the AUCC is to:-   Foster a culture of excellence and accountability to ensure our teams and individual players are given every opportunity to excel and progress to their highest level (including first class cricket).   Support and enhance the development of a well governed, well managed and appropriately resourced club providing our members with quality coaching and playing opportunities for cricketers of all levels and effectively recruit and recognise volunteers so that our players and supporters enjoy their cricket involvement.   Recruit new players and achieve better retention of players through effective resourcing, guidance and player development programmes ensuring all players reach their potential and continue to play and enjoy the game.   Maintain and grow a comprehensive coaching development programme that delivers quality coaching through education and communication.   Establish a grounds and facilities policy to ensure outstanding playing and practice facilities remain in place.   Work with our respective stakeholders to deliver their objectives.   Set standards of behaviour and expectations within our Club that continually improve the culture and respect for the game.

Description:
The AUCC presently fields teams in the SACA A, B, C and D Grades. For the first time in many years, the AUCC has four teams competing in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association ("ATCA") Limited Overs competition in season 2009/10, being LOA, LOB, LOC and LOE. In season 2009/10 the AUCC has approximately 100 players registered to play for the Club, of which approximately 50 are current undergraduate students or staff of Adelaide University and 11 were international students. The AUCC is not just for students of Adelaide University as any person is able to play for the AUCC which gives our club a terrific dynamic that is not replicated in any other cricket club in this State. The AUCC is financially secure and has an administrative arm comprising experienced former players (most of whom have embarked on successful professional careers) augmented by enthusiastic students and a vibrant social environment which makes being involved in the AUCC fun and rewarding.
