Mission Statement:
Mission
The mission for Beehive Industries is to maintain an Activity Workshop for people who are elderly or who have some disability or disadvantage, assisting them to remain independent, to feel needed and useful, to be physically and mentally stimulated and to enjoy the respect and companionship of their fellows.
Vision
A strong and viable organisation providing a safe community and workshop for elderly or socially isolated people to work with purpose, respect and dignity.
Description:
Beehive Industries is an independent Association established to run an Activity Workshop for people who want to remain in a working environment but are not employed because of age or disability.
Beehive receives no subsidy and relies on providing a high standard of service to maintain its vital enterprise. Work is labour-intensive, extending clients’ core business in a cost-effective way.
Our Workforce fills a market need for businesses while remaining independent, healthy and self-reliant.
Most people who attend the Workshop are retirees and several have some disability.
Beehive also provides placements for employment programmes run by schools and other organisations.
The average age of the Workforce at Beehive is higher than elsewhere but length of service is comparable.
Beehive Industries exists because no other organisation or government caters for an active, competent, aged population with a fulfilling workplace.
People who bring us work include individuals with an enterprising venture, artists, printers, builders, government departments, marketing experts, industry suppliers and small, medium and large businesses.
Beehive Industries is on the outskirts of Perth Central Business District, convenient to train and bus transport.
