Description:
Bicycle SA is the peak recreational cycling organisation in South Australia. It is an incorporated body, community based, not for profit and was established in 1982 by a group of cyclists passionate about promoting cycle touring. The organisation currently has over 6,000 members, employs a core of full time staff comprising the Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, Events Manager, Bike Ed Manager, Membership/Liaison/Administration Officer, Project Officers in Mountain Biking & Trails with significant volunteer support. Bicycle SA has established itself in: · Multi day cycle touring · Base camp events, held over several days · Single and multi day personal challenge events, both on bitumen and off road · Free rides lead by experienced Rides Leaders conducted every day ·Lobbying/Advocacy ·Bicycle maintenance ·Bike Ed programme ·Cycling information centre ·Provision of mountain bike facilities/management of those facilities ·Free City bike scheme We have a range of activities that we would like volunteer involvement in. These include: · Bicycle maintenance · Campsite management - skilled tradespeople · Catering · Communications - radio, electronic and paper · Entertainment · Guided bike tours · Masseurs · Medical support · Office support - eg mail out packers and sorters, admin duties · Ride marshals · Route reconnaissance signage · Security · Support vehicles · Trail building · Trail maintenance · Trail rehabilitation · Truck/vehicle drivers - loading and unloading & campsite logistics
